Modular pontoons

Modular pontoons

Modular system for floating structures and vessels

Eurodredging modular pontoons are steel floating elements that assemble in water to create customized configurations. The system allows the construction of fixed floating structures such as piers and docks, or the building of actual vessels such as dredgers, ferries and tugboats.

Technical features

The modular elements are made of steel with standardized dimensions that facilitate transport and assembly:

  • L2M Series: 2-meter width, container transportable
  • L3M Series: 3-meter width for greater load capacity
  • Lengths: multiples of 3 meters (from 3 to 12 meters)
  • Heights: from 1.0 to 2.0 meters according to load and flotation requirements
  • Specific weight: approximately 200 kg/m³
  • Assembly: directly from the deck using coupling rods

The modular dimensions enable transport by road, rail or ship with optimized costs.

RINA certification

All projects are carried out according to drawings approved by the Italian Naval Register (RINA). The pontoons are certified for maritime navigation and can operate in marine, river and lake environments. For each configuration, a specific stability calculation is provided, determined based on the operating machinery and expected loads. The internal structures with frameworks and reinforcements are sized to ensure robustness and durability over time.

Available series

Pontone modulare L2M

L2M Series (2-metre width)

  • Operational economy: structure optimised for moderate loads with excellent weight-to-performance ratio, ideal for standard applications and container transport, concentrated deck load capacity < 4 t/m²
  • Dimensional flexibility: complete range of lengths from 6 to 12 metres with heights from 1.0 to 2 metres for optimal adaptation to work spaces
  • Transport ease: contained weight and modular dimensions allow simplified handling and reduced transport costs
Pontone modulare L3M

L3M Series (3-metre width)

  • Superior capacity: reinforced structure for heavy loads and intensive operations with work machinery, concentrated deck load capacity < 7 t/m²
  • Structural robustness: increased internal reinforcement and optimised thicknesses guarantee durability and reliability even in severe operating conditions
  • Specialised applications: ideal for dredgers and work platforms requiring high structural strength

Special elements

In addition to standard modules, specialized elements are available for advanced configurations:

  • Bows: front elements for vessels requiring optimized hydrodynamics
  • Stern elements: modules prepared for housing propulsion units
  • Reinforced modules: for derrick pontoons and lifting operations
  • Jack-up configurations: preparations for hydraulic or pneumatic self-elevating systems

Main applications

Eurodredging modular pontoons are divided into two distinct application categories:

Assemblable floating structures: mooring piers, work platforms, floating bridges, structures for nautical and sports activities. Solutions for fixed or semi-permanent installations in marine, river or lake environments.

Vessels on modular hull: suction or grab dredgers, passenger and cargo ferries, tugboats and push-tugs, self-elevating platforms. The modular hull becomes the structural base for complete operational vessels.
